While only 1 costume is required for approval, many members choose to build additional costumes. Whether it be your 2nd or 22nd costume, the process after your 1st is fairly straightforward and simple (assuming you aren't working on a
New to the Legion and the costume is already approvable in the 501st roster).
1. If you have not already built the costume, it is recommended to visit the Detachment forum associated with it for sourcing/build info and answers to costume-specific questions. You can find the list of Detachments and their forums
here.
2. If your Garrison has an Armorer-type staff member, they can also assist in questions or assistance regarding the build or sourcing.
3. Once the costume is built, contact your GML and notify them of the costume approval request. You can find your GMLs by locating your unit
here, or through your local forums.
4. You will submit your name, TKID, and photos for approval. The photos should be high resolution in good lighting (as natural as you are able) and taken against a neutral background that is not the same color as your costume. You will photograph the completed costume, meaning any makeup or accessories should also be worn.
For costumes that have a face covering, you will need the following photos:
-full front, helmet/mask on
-full back, helmet/mask on
-full left side, helmet/mask on
-full right side, helmet/mask on
-full front, helmet/mask off to show your face
For costumes that do not have a face covering, you will need the following photos:
-full front
-full back
-full left side
-full right side
Additionally, if you wish to include any action shots to utilize for your costume profile photo, you can do so here.
Once the information and photos are submitted to the GML and receive approval, it will be added to your 501st profile by the GML.
