On July 26, 2013, Bloodfin Garrison and the 501st Legion lost member Bill Warren (ASOK) BH-7718. Bill joined Bloodin with his wife Dawn (TI-1544) in the fall of 2003. He was one of the most active members of the garrison, traveling all over Indiana to attend events. He served on command staff as the Forum Admin since 2005 and was also XO of the Bounty Hunter's Guild until he resigned in June. In addition to being a member of the Legion, Bill was an active member of The Dented Helmet (where he also had served as an administer for several years), the RPF, and the R2 Builders. He had even built his own droid, R4-M6. Bill's passion for Star Wars and props was well known. He was always striving to make his costumes better and to help others however he could, often going above and beyond. Bloodfin has now adopted a saying: "Is it Bill enough?" to rate a costume in his honor.
Bill's dedication to the craft of costuming---and more importantly to helping others in the hobby---will not be forgotten. We welcome him to our Hall of Eternal Legionnaires and thank him for representing the 501st Legion so brightly.

Steve Young (ID-5979) of the Southern Dewback Garrison passed away on 31 July, 2013. Steve was known locally for his sense of humour and his passion for costuming and charity work. A long-serving member, he was one of the corner stones of the South Australian convention scene and was respected and loved by others across Australia, making many trips to interstate events. It is with honour that we induct Steve into the 501st Legion's Hall of Eternal Legionnaires. Our thoughts go out to his wife Helena, who is a member of the Rebel Legion, and to all those who knew him.

Dragon Con was the very first true convention for the 501st Legion back in 1997, and the tradition continues this weekend!
We are participating in the "Meet the Fan Groups" and "Costuming Insights" panels as part of the Star Wars track and will, of course, be marching in force in the parade! Click here for all of the details! http://bit.ly/1a5ynNM
