In the days following Star Wars Celebration VI, the 501st Legion reached an epic milestone. For years, each of our new members was assigned a unique four-digit identification number that became theirs for life. Having exhausted all other numbers from 0000 to 9999, on August 31st, 2012, the Legion assigned the last available four-digit number to Peter Smart, IN-8534 of UK Garrison. A new era then dawned in the Empire, ushered in by the first five-digit member of Vader's Fist: Garrison Tyranus's William C. Adamson, TK-92901. Now, with almost 6,000 Active Members worldwide, the Legion soldiers on into a bright future, looking forward to approving our next 10,000 members!

The 501st Legion received this message from WPLG with a request to share it with members of the 501st and the Star Wars fan community...
"We apologize to those who we inadvertently offended with our Star Wars slideshow. It was posted by an member of our staff who is an avid Star Wars fan. He took the pictures and added what were intended to be humorous captions largely of people in creative Star Wars costumes at a convention he attended over the weekend in Orlando. His goal was to create a lighthearted web feature. After getting complaints yesterday, we removed the slideshow from our website. Again, to those who were offended, we apologize.

Terry "Bro" Browning - TK8869 of the Northeast Remnant! Terry was recognized for his dedication and attention to detail both as CO and as a new father. He encourages interaction within the NER as well as nearby garrisons and the Rebel Legion. Even with his full schedule, he manages to have the highest troop total in the garrison. Bro is knowledgeable on many costumes and offers help to any potential or existing members. He educates and leads by example in all that he does for and with the Garrison. Bro is an all-around model trooper. Congrats Bro!!

The Florida Garrison has lost a brother-in-arms, Phil "Florida Phil" Tyre TD-1373 on September 21, 2012. Phil's joy was infectious, his wit was sharp and his friendship to all became legendary throughout the Garrison and Legion. While our brother will be missed greatly, he will forever live on in our hearts, encouraging us to live, love and laugh just a little more. Peace be with you Phil, as you forever take your place in the ranks of our Eternal Legionnaires.
