The 501st approval requirements are listed in black.

The Sith Lord Detachment defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, items listed under "For level two certification" are recommended features that will greatly improve the quality of the costume. These items are not required for 501st membership, but are highly recommended. Items listed under "For level three certification" are some of the highest level accuracy features for those who strive to be screen accurate. These items are also not required for 501st membership.

Also note that these two additional "certification levels" DO NOT correspond to the Advanced Standards program of the Sith Lord Detachment, and you are encouraged to visit the Sith Lord Detachment Forum for more information.

For 501st membership, only the requirements in black need to be met.

This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. GMLs are free to approve this costume type.
  • Any uncertainties or questionable aspects of the submitted costume should be brought to the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the legion forum.
Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

DookuHair.jpg Hair
For 501st approval:
  • The hair is not parted.
  • It is combed straight back from a slight widow's peak at the front. At the sides, the hair curves around until it is parallel with the sideburns. In the back, the hair is off of the neck.
  • The hair is colored or dyed white
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • The eyebrows should be dark grey in color.
For level three certification (if applicable):
DookuBeard.jpg Beard/Mustache/Make-Up or Aging
For 501st approval:
  • You can either use your own facial hair, or high quality costuming facial hair.
  • The mustache covers the area between the nose and lips, then tapers off past the edge of the lips and joins into the beard.
  • Beard is trimmed closely to the chin and side of the face. It tapers slightly as it goes up the sides of the face until it meets the sideburns. Facial hair should be colored or dyed white.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • The mustache and under the lower lip should be dark grey in color.
  • Should have bags under the eyes, wrinkles, and liver spots to match film reference. Visit the Count Dooku facial details page for reference.
For level three certification (if applicable):
  • To be most accurate the beard should be trimmed and colored to match Christopher Lee's in the movie.

  • The neck of the cape should come to a "peek" in the back, covering the back collar of the person's neck.
For level three certification (if applicable):
