Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that a requirement is optional. All instances of should will be replaced with must as this guide is completed.

Required Costume Components
The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .

	Hair For 501st approval: The head is bald except for a topknot at the back of the head and a sidelock on the left side of the head. The topknot reaches approximately to the shoulder blades. The sidelock is approximately half the length of the topknot.

	Topknot Band For 501st approval: A metallic gold band is wrapped around the base of the topknot to make it stand out away from the costumer's head.

	Head Prosthetic For 501st approval: A full head mask or prosthetic appliances are worn to recreate Prince Xizor's green reptilian appearance. The brow line and cheekbone structure are heavily accentuated. The ears are covered, and the area around them is heavily ridged. The ridges continue around the back side of the head.

	Spine Prosthetic For 501st approval: A green, heavily ridged appliance is worn to cover the back of the neck and the spine. The appliance extends far enough beneath the back of the jacket to keep the costumer's true skin out of sight.

	Collar For 501st approval: The collar is made of a very stiff, deep violet material that stands out far over the shoulders. The collar comes together at chest level in the front, and tapers gradually together at the lower back. The edges are trimmed in gold, with a pair of small accents etched or painted on the front.

	Jacket For 501st approval: The outer jacket is floor length and made of a heavy, stiff material. The main area of the jacket is made of an eggplant hued material. Painted or embossed lines give the illusion of interlocking plates. The front of the jacket is closed over the torso, and then open from the beltline to the floor. The collar is high and snug against the neck. The back of the jacket is open over the upper back, and then closed from the beltline to the knees. The back of the jacket may be open from the knees to the floor. All edges of the jacket are trimmed in gold material. A row of round trim accents are located around the bottom hem.

	Bodysuit For 501st approval: The bodysuit is made of a dark indigo material. The sleeves are form-fitting, while the legs have a more relaxed fit. The sleeves end in a point over the back of the hands, and are trimmed in gold edging. An elastic strap may be worn over the middle fingers to keep the sleeve point in place.

	Fabric Drapes For 501st approval: A length of violet fabric similar in color to the collar is worn draped over each forearm. This is two separate pieces of fabric, not a single length. The fabric is hemmed to prevent fraying, and reaches nearly to the floor. For ease of wear, the fabric drapes may be inconspicuously attached to the forearms.

	Finger Prosthetics For 501st approval: Prosthetic hands or fingers are used to replicate the reptilian look of Xizor's hands. The fingernails are long and claw-like. All exposed skin is green in color.

	Belt For 501st approval: A leather belt is worn. The belt may match the jacket in color, or it may be dyed dark indigo. The belt may include a metallic gold buckle at the center front, or the front may be plain. The belt goes beneath the collar's lower extension in the back.

	Boots For 501st approval: The boots are knee high with a low heel. They are wrapped with strips of light tan material. The edges of the wraps are finished so that they will not fray.

Optional Accessories
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below.

	Arm Bands For 501st approval: Wrapped "snake" style arm bands may be worn around the upper arms. If worn, the arm bands are made of a metallic gold material.

	Gloves For 501st approval: Black fingerless gloves may be worn. If worn, the gloves are tucked under the sleeves of the bodysuit.

	Sashes For 501st approval: A pair of ankle length sashes may hang from the belt buckle. If worn, they are made of the same material as the jacket.
