The Imperial Officer Corp Detachment defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, items listed in blue are optional features that will improve the quality of the costume. These items are not required, but are recommended.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

For Level 3 approval, the combination of accessories for a costume must strictly match a particular movie seen configuration.

• This CRL is a work in progress. This costume may be approved by GMLs, but additional research should be done until the CRL is complete.
• If you have this costume and would like to assist with this CRL, please contact your detachment leader!
• Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that a requirement is optional. All instances of should will be replaced with must as this guide is completed.

The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .

• 12" (304.8mm) diameter black plastic dome.
• Front and back covers with 1.5" (38.1mm) holes over-laid onto dome.
• Back "wing" extending about 4" (101.6mm) below the rim of the dome at the sides and about 7" (177.8mm) at the back, encompassing about half the circumference of the helmet.
• Ear blocks with a bend to match the flare of the "wing" over each ear at the front ends of the "wing" with geometric circle patterns in the top half and a spaced out area of "dimples" in the lower half.
  

• Must exactly match a specific helmet worn on-screen.

• Fabric should be a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants. Gabardine style weave is most accurate.
• Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on the tapered yoke.
• Yoke comes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam.
• The standing collar has square corners and is about 1.25" (31.8 mm) tall and closes snugly and includes a modesty panel behind closure. Collar edges are closed with two eye hooks.
• Sleeves are long, and without decoration, cuffs or buttons, containing 2 seams, one along the bottom and one along the back.
• Rank bars of any kind are not permitted.
  

• There is a dart of about 2" (50.8 mm) in the top center of the yoke.
• Additionally there is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt.
• The back of the tunic has princess seams that run vertically and turns outward to intersect the arm-hole seam at the vertical center.

• Tunic must be secured on the right side by snaps or buttons, not Velcro. There is no topstitching visible anywhere and it must have a lining sewn in.
• The Warrant Officers in ANH wear a uniquely designed tunic with subtle differences that are only seen in ANH. Costumers may choose to replicate this design in lieu of the standard officer tunic, but only if doing the ANH Navy Trooper. Navy Troopers in ESB and ROTJ wore regular black officer-style tunics.
• There are no code cylinder pockets the outside panels of the jacket for ANH warrant officers.

• Black, leather or leather-like, enclosed fingered, non-textured, fitted gauntlet style.
• No buckles, straps, or decorative stitching are permitted.
• The three straight lines on the back of the hand (that match some references) are permitted.
  

• Gloves shall be made of leather.

• Gauntlets shall slightly flair-out, upward from the wrist to the mid- forearm.

• Please refer to the Imperial Buckle reference page for information on popular eBay available buckles.
• The belt shall be constructed from a non-textured leather or a leather-like material, approximately 2" (50.8 mm) in width (up to 3" (76.s mm) is acceptable)
• The buckle shall be constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal looking material.
• A single large snap or rivet should be visible approximately 1" (25.4 mm) from the buckle. The belt may be worn with the snap to the right or left of the wearer.
• The buckle size should be approximately 2 5/8" (66.7 mm) high and 4 1/8" (104.5 mm) wide with 0.5" (12.7 mm) radius rounded corners.
• Buckles are adorned with an Imperial Code Disk at the center.
  

• Fabric should be a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the tunic and hat. Gabardine style weave is most accurate.
• Pockets are acceptable, though they should not be visible with the tunic on.
• Pants must be neatly pressed or ironed, and smartly rest on the top of the shoes without bunching or giving any sloppy appearance.

• Calf high black leather or leather like material.
• Free of laces, decorative stitching, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments.
• Boots may have a single adjustment strap at the top outside of the boot, with the bucket no wider than 1". This need not be functional.
• Zippers on the inside of the boot are acceptable, so long as they are concealed. If the zipper is not covered by vinyl/leather, it should be painted black.
• German "jack boot" style boots are most canon.
  

• Boots shall be made of leather.

• Boots shall be German jack boots (or “Knobelbechers”) or an authentic replication thereof.
• Boots shall have the top adjustment strap.

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below.

• Dimensions are approximately 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) by 4 1/2" (114.3 mm) by 1" (25.4 mm) thick.
  

• ANH Navy Troopers shall have two vertical belt boxes, one on either side of the belt buckle.
• ESB Navy Troopers shall have two horizontal belt boxes, one on either side of the belt buckle.

• Belt boxes must be metal.

• Made of black leather or leather-like material.
  

• Holster shall be worn on the right and affixed via two loops over the belt.
• Holster straps shall be completely black.
• ANH and ROTJ Navy Troopers shall not wear an E-11 holster.
• ESB Navy Troopers shall wear an E-11 holster.

• Holster (if worn) should be a shortened version of the E-11 holster.

• Scratch built or high-end prop replica.
  

• ANH Navy Troopers shall have a DH-17.
• ESB and ROTJ Navy Troopers shall not have a DH-17.

• Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster.
  

• ANH and ROTJ Navy Troopers shall not use an E-11.
• ESB Navy Troopers shall carry an E-11.
• Folding stock (does not need to function).
• No ammo counter shall be present.
• D-ring mounted on the rear.
• Correct style scope.
• No power cylinders on the magazine housing.
• Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters shall have a total of 6 T-tracks on blaster (leaving the lowest row on the magazine housing side uncovered).
• If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster and you cover all the rows of holes, the blaster will have 7 T-tracks total. But, if you want to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total) with the lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side, then you shall cover the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, and grind off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side and drill a new row of holes in its place.
