The Imperial Officer Corp Detachment defines additional, optional levels of costuming excellence. In the page below, items listed in blue are optional features that will improve the quality of the costume. These items are not required, but are recommended.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

For Level 3 approval, the combination of accessories for a costume must strictly match a particular movie seen configuration.

• This CRL is a work in progress. This costume may be approved by GMLs, but additional research should be done until the CRL is complete.
• If you have this costume and would like to assist with this CRL, please contact your detachment leader!
• Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that a requirement is optional. All instances of should will be replaced with must as this guide is completed.

The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .

• Fabric should be a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants and tunic if applicable. Gabardine style weave is most accurate.
• Base of the hat should be conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6 mm) tall.
• Front and rear "flaps" should overlap on the sides and be about 4" (101.6 mm) high.
• Front bill extends 3" down, decorated with 6 or 7 concentric stitches.
• Imperial Code Disk (see below) positioned in the center of the front vertical "flap."
  

• Code disk should have a notch detail on the outermost disk.

• Code disk should exactly match screen-used prop.

• One piece light grey coverall/jumpsuit/flight suit with a front invisible zipper.
• Approximately 1.5" (38.1mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right velcro closure.
• A silver or white "imperial cog" emblem on a black background must be present on both shoulders. The cog should be 3" or 3.5" in diameter, and 1" from the shoulder seam.
  • If the costume includes armor that covers the cog emblems entirely, they may be omitted.
• On the left forearm there is a com-pad pocket approximately 5" (127mm) wide by 5.75" (146.05mm) tall with no flap and a 2.25" (57.15mm) window in it. (Size might vary to match your com-pad)
• On the left bicep, approximately 2" (50.8mm) below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves.
• The bottom front corner of the pocket is cut off at a bevel on the side pointing in view direction with the broader upside forming the border of the pen sleeves.
• The right sleeve has a cargo pocket approximateyl 6" (152mm) wide and 5.75" (146mm) on the bicep approx 2"(50.8mm) below the cog emblem. The pocket has a 2"(50.8mm) flap.
• 2 large chest pockets and 2 large front pockets below the belt without any zipper or flaps
• 2 leg pockets with flaps similar in proportion as the one on the right arm sleeve. Size may differ. (Usually the width of the front pockets equals the width of the leg pockets)
• Rank bars of any kind are not permitted.
• There are no leg pockets below the knees
  

• All pocket flaps to have chevron point.

• Please refer to the Imperial Buckle reference page for information on popular eBay available buckles.
• The belt shall be constructed from a non-textured leather or a leather-like material, approximately 2" (50.8 mm) in width (up to 3" (76.s mm) is acceptable)
• The buckle shall be constructed from a horizontally brushed metal, or metal looking material.
• A single large snap or rivet should be visible approximately 1" (25.4 mm) from the buckle. The belt may be worn with the snap to the right or left of the wearer.
• The buckle size should be approximately 2 5/8" (66.7 mm) high and 4 1/8" (104.5 mm) wide with 0.5" (12.7 mm) radius rounded corners.
• Buckles are adorned with an Imperial Code Disk at the center.
  

• Calf high black leather or leather like material.
• Free of laces, decorative stitching, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments.
• Boots may have a single adjustment strap at the top outside of the boot, with the bucket no wider than 1". This need not be functional.
• Zippers on the inside of the boot are acceptable, so long as they are concealed. If the zipper is not covered by vinyl/leather, it should be painted black.
• German "jack boot" style boots are most canon.
  

• Boots shall be made of leather.

• Boots shall be German jack boots (or “Knobelbechers”) or an authentic replication thereof.
• Boots shall have the top adjustment strap.

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below.

• ANH: No gloves. Has 2 code cylinders, 2 vertical belt boxes, and the alternate style compad.
• ESB: Green hat instead of black, and 3 code cylinders. No belt boxes, gloves, or compad. May have a headset.
• ROTJ: has guantlets and may have a single vertical belt box. No code cylinders, compad, or headset.

  • Color options for officer are black or olive-greyish green and must match the tunic and pants.
  • Color option for imperial crew is black.
• Base of the hat should be conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6 mm) tall.

• Front bill extends 3" down, decorated with 6 or 7 concentric stitches.
• Imperial Code Disk positioned in the center of the front vertical "flap."

• ESB scanning crew shall have a green hat, not black.

• Code disk should exactly match a screen used prop.

• Silver and black headset with microphone.
  

• ANH and ROTJ scaning crew shall not wear headsets.

• Crewman style: machined aluminum rod with flaring disc detail at top
• Two or three may be worn.
  

• ANH scanning crew shall have 2 code cylinders.
• ESB scanning crew shall have 3 code cylinders.
• ROTJ scanning crew shall not have code cylinders.

• If worn, the compad must be the alternate style with buttons and detailing as shown.
• Compads shall not be electronically lit.
  

• ANH scanning crew shall have a compad.
• ESB and ROTJ bridge crew shall not have a compad.

• Black, leather or leather-like, enclosed fingered, non-textured, fitted gauntlet style.
• No buckles, straps, or decorative stitching are permitted.
  

• Gloves shall be made of leather.
• ANH and ESB scanning crew shall not wear gloves.
• ROTJ scanning crew shall wear gauntlet style gloves.

• Dimensions are approximately 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) by 4 1/2" (114.3 mm) by 1" (25.4 mm) thick.
  

• ANH scanning crew shall have two vertical belt boxes.
• ESB scanning crew shall have no belt boxes.
• ROTJ scanning crew may have a single vertical belt box to the wearer's left side of the belt buckle.

• Belt boxes must be metal.
