  • Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that a requirement is optional. All instances of should will be replaced with must as this guide is completed.

Born on the arid planet of Kubindi, Garindan is a Kubaz species, Imperial informant. He trailed C-3PO and R2-D2 as they met with Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi in Mos Eisley and led the Sandtroopers to Docking Bay 94 where Han Solo's Millennium Falcon awaited its getaway.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .

Blankwhite.gif Head and Snout
For 501st approval:
  • Made from Leather, leather like material, or latex, with the proper look and proportions as is seen in ANH.
  • The mask must extend down the front of the neck meeting the shirt, so that there is no visible skin around the face and neck.
  • The snout should be dark brown.
  • The snout must have 'breather holes' down the front.
  • The snout, should have visible cross "Stitching" down sides and around snout where it meets the face.


Blankwhite.gif Goggles
For 501st approval:
  • Dark Grey or black in color.
    • The goggles are darker than snout.
    • The goggles are wider than the face mask.
  • Dark lenses that hide the eyes.
  • A "round" greeble is located in the middle of the goggles which stands out from the goggles.
    • The shape of this piece should be a simple round circle / disk, with a small hole in the center.
    • This greeble is silver or brass / gold in color.
    • The greeble should stand out from the goggles about 10mm - 12mm [3/8"-1/2"].


Blankwhite.gif Hood and Cloak
For 501st approval:
  • Black in color.
  • Drapes down from a upward peak to at least mid thigh in front.
  • The hood should have a small lateral peak just above the goggles (similar to a short baseball cap brim) which raises the hood above and away from the goggles.
  • The hood opening should have a hidden piece of wire / plastic / leather, around the face, to maintain the proper shape. [Similar to Jawa hoods].
  • The collar of the cloak has a 'Sherlock Holmes' style cowl.
  • "It should not gather around the neck, but rather drape down in front and rear.


Blankwhite.gif Clothing
For 501st approval:
  • Dark Khaki / Dark Sage/ Grey or faded black shirt.
    • The shirt has a middle join.
    • No visible buttons. It is fixed with Velcro or a similar type fastener.
  • Black pants or a faded black jumpsuit.

For 501st approval:
  • Black Gauntlet style gloves [Similar to Tie Fighter or ANH Darth Vader gloves].

For 501st approval:
  • Black or Brown belt.
    • Optional: Imperial style belt buckle with rounded edges.

For 501st approval:
  • A Stormtrooper style, White Comlink.


Blankwhite.gif Boots
For 501st approval:
  • Black boots.



Optional Accessories

Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below.

  • Black or Brown holster with any suitable blaster.

For 501st approval:
  • Minor Weathering is encouraged.
