Detachment: Armored Cavalry Detachment
Context: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
AT-RT driver, also known as AT-RT scouts, were clone troopers specially trained to pilot AT-RT walkers onto the battlefield.

Note: The AT-RT driver was transferred from Clonetroopers.net to Armored Cavalry Detachment on 8/2011 at the request of ACD and with the approval of CTN and the Legion Membership Officers.


The 501st approval requirements are listed in black.

The Armored Cavalry Detachment defines additional, optional costuming details listed in blue. Please visit the ACD web site for more details on these options.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.


  • This CRL is a work in progress.
  • While this costume must be approved by the Legion Membership Officer, submissions should still go to the local GML, who will post the application in the appropriate section of the Legion forum.
  • If you have this costume and would like to assist with this CRL, please contact your detachment leader!
  • Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that a requirement is optional. All instances of should will be replaced with must as this guide is completed.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .

150px Helmet
For 501st approval:
  • High-end replica, must have shape characteristics unique to the AT-RT Driver.
  • Helmet dome to be painted camo-green, sides & face to be painted camo-tan.
  • Visor, area around the eyes, ears & rear of helmet to be painted matte-white.
  • Two white stripes, about 1.2" wide, on the dome of helmet (going front to back).
  • Grey stripe along the back of the dome (going side to side).
  • Rectangular "grid" on the rear of helmet to be painted black.
  • Vocoder to be painted black, area around the vocoder to be painted grey.
  • Directly above the vocoder is a "square-like" indented section - above this, is a silver greeblie.
  • 5 black stripes, or vents, on each side of helmet cheeks.
  • 3 small vents either side of the eyes.
  • Between the eyes is a raised rectangular section.
  • AT-RT style antenna to be mounted on the left of the helmet, in a 1/3 circle detail on the ear (antenna to be painted black, 1/3 circle to be painted white).
  • Flat dark lenses.

  • A balaclava is a black head sock/hood that is worn under the helmet and is used primarily to hide any view of the wearer's skin and/or facial hair.

For 501st approval:
  • Neck-seal to be black in colour.
  • Vertical ribbing or non-textured in apperance.
  • No visable logos or labels.

  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.

150px Flak Vest
For 501st approval:
  • Brown in colour.
  • Made of leather, or similar material.
  • Must have piping on the seams of the neck, shoulder & arm openings.
  • Shoulders must not flare outward like wings.

150px Chest Armour
For 501st approval:
  • Episode 3 clone "Grunt" style chest armour.
  • Armour to be painted camo-green.
  • 3 horizontal red lines to be painted on the left breast (bottom line smaller than the two above).
  • Chest & back-plate should match together at the sides with no gap, just a seam line.
  • There are no shoulder-straps, or visable straps of any kind.
  • Chest Armour to have characteristic "seam-line" or "channel-grove" running horizontally across the top of the chest.

150px Back Armour
For 501st approval:
  • Armour to be painted camo-green.
  • Back & Chest-plate should match together at the sides with no gap, just a seam line.
  • Attatched to the back-plate is a tank.
  • Similar in design to a Biker Scout & Kashyyyk Trooper.
  • To be painted camo-green.
  • Top of the tank is flat with a detail piece, painted black or grey.
  • On top of the tank, at either end, is a round grey or silver greeblie.
  • On top of the tank, in the midle, is a grey or silver cylindric spine-shapped greeblie.
  • At the bottom, on either side, is a "exhaust port" (round ring about 2" in diamiter).
  • Tank may have a black stripe detail going horizontally across (similar to a biker scout).

150px Shoulder Armour
For 501st approval:
  • Armour to be painted camo-tan.
  • Must have 8 points to the armour & curve around the upper arm.
  • Must attatch securely to the shoulders of the vest.

  • Armour to be painted camo-tan.
  • Tubular in shape, with the same circumference all the way along.
  • Cut at a sloping angle only at the top (for the arm pit).

For 501st approval:
  • Armour to be painted camo-tan.
  • On each elbow there should be detail slots that look like an equal symbol (located on the outside of the body, near the connection point of the strap).
  • Strapped using brown or tan elastic.
