Fox leads the Coruscant Guard, and has appeared in both the series and the original theatrical release.

In the page below, items listed in blue are recommended features that will improve the quality of the costume. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

IMPORTANT: The "Animated" armor design, seen in The Clone Wars CG Series, differs from the "Realistic" armor design used to create characters from the theatrical films and graphic novels.

  • As such, this costume must be approved by the Legion Membership Officer, via the appropriate section of the Legion forum.

  • Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that the armor piece is considered open to interpretation. All instances of "should be" and "should have" will be replaced with "is" and "has", as this guide is completed.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

150px Helmet
For 501st approval:
  • Clone Wars style helmet required. Movie style helmets cannot be combined with animated armor.
  • Helmet must be painted matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • An animated visor shall be attached to the helmet just over the lens. the visor shall be painted dark scarlet. Consult reference images for more detail.
  • The top of the helmet fin, sides and rear underside shall be painted dark scarlet and weathered.
  • The cheek indents of the helmet are painted dark scarlet.
  • A dark scarlet inverted triangle shall be painted below the visor, extending on either side of the "center" of the helmet down the sides about halfway. Consult reference images for more detail.
  • The ear caps on the left and rights sides of the helmet shall be painted matte or satin white and weathered.
  • A black communications antenna shall be attached to the right side of the helmet at the ear cap.
  • A white led lamp with a white lens shall be mounted to the left side of the visor.
  • A black visor extends down through the entire frown area.
  • Narrow fin on dome.
  • Raised bump at each ear, 1" - 1.25" in diameter.
  • 4 Vents on each side of helmet. May be painted black or grey, or cut out and filled with black mesh.
  • A grey stripe runs around back of dome.
  • Raised satin white circle at the back of the helmet.
  • Rectangular indent at the back of the helmet shall be black or heavily weathered grey.

  • Helmet must be weathered.

For 501st approval:
  • Neck seal is black in color with no ribbing.
  • No logos or labels are visible.
    • If the seal is not incorporated as part of the under suit, a balaclava or other similar covering is acceptable.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Neck seal closes in the front via 2 small black snaps.

For 501st approval:
  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.


150px Shoulder Bells
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted dark scarlet. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Right shoulder bell painted matte blue-gray with wolfs head motif as shown.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Shoulder bells must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):
150px Upper Arm Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • On the back of the biceps, there is what appears to be a dark scarlet upsidedown "Y" along with a smaller dark scarlet "swooshes" beginning at the mid-line of each bicep and swooping horizontally back & Upwards. Consult reference images for more details.
  • Armor has a notch on the lower area of the back of the arm that matches up with the elbow armor.
  • Armor must be seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled should be shown.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):
150px Forearm Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted dark scarlet. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Left forearm must have a compad painted white that has 4 main square recessed areas and 1 slightly smaller square recessed area. The smaller recess is closest to the elbow.
  • Armor must be seamless on the outside edge. Due to the shape of the armor, a butted seam is acceptable on the inside if required.
  • Elbow plate is integrated into the forearm, extending up to fit into the notch on the bicep.
  • Elbow plate is painted matte or satin white.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor must be seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled should be shown.
  • Armor must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):


150px Hand Plates
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted dark scarlet. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Hand plates are mirror images of each other.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):


Generic-black-gloves.jpg Gloves
For 501st approval:
  • Black over the wrist gloves made of leather, nylon, or other low pile fabrics.
  • Gloves cover any exposed skin.
  • Gloves do not show any labels or logos when the armor is worn.


150px Chest Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Lower portion of the chest has a curved notch for the abdomen armor to fit into.
  • The Symbol of the Galactic Senate is painted in dark scarlet on the center of chest, with the center of the symbol at the top of the curved notch.
  • Extending out from the Senate symbol is a dark scarlet line that moves towards the back armor and expands in size. The line sits under the breast portion of the armor. Consult reference images for more detail.
  • Chest and back plate must match together at the sides and shoulders with no gap. Butted seam lines are permitted if required.
  • Dark scarlet shoulder straps must be placed over the chest and back armor at the seams.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):
150px Back Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • A two-inch dark scarlet stripe extends from the chest below the arm and ending just on either side of the rear tank.
  • Rear tank has detailed area that contains a O11 pattern similar to a stormtrooper.
  • Dark scarlet shoulder straps should be placed over the chest and back armor at the seams.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Back armor must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):
150px Ab Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • The Ab armor shall have the bottom portion of the Galactic Senate symbol in the center extending down the abs to the belt. Consult reference images for more detail.

For 501st approval:
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Kidney and abdomen armor connect at the sides with no open gap.
    • A butted seam between the kidney and abdomen armor is acceptable.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

For 501st approval:
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Belt is approx 3" tall and divided into 1.75" wide segments.
  • The front segments have a key/slot detail.
  • Belt boxes are mounted at the hips.
  • Codpiece and Posterior armor connect at the hips.
    • Butted seams are permitted at this connection if required.
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.

For 501st approval:
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Belt is approx 3" tall and divided into 1.75" wide segments.
  • Posterior armor and Codpiece connect at the hips.
    • Butted seams are permitted at this connection if required.
  • Detonator is centered on the back of belt.
    • Detonator has no control buttons.
    • The detonator has (2) lines set in approx 1/2" - 5/8" from the edges.
      • Lines may be recessed or painted on
  • Armor is weathered with shades of grey.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Detonator lines are recessed.
150px Belt and Ammo Box's
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted dark scarlet. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Belt must have two satin white belt box's one on each side the left and right of the belt mirrored images of each other.
  • The Thermal detonator shall be painted dark scarlet.

  • Belt and box's must be weathered.
For level three certification (if applicable):


TC animated thighs.jpg Thigh Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor is painted matte or satin white.
  • Front of thigh armor has a flat triangular area near the knee with a notch cut out for the knee armor.
  • From the top of the triangle a ridge line travels up the front of the thigh to the top edge.
  • The upper outer edge has an angled section.
  • The armor is weathered with shades of grey.
For level two certification (if applicable):
  • Armor is seamless.
    • No visible traces of how the armor was assembled are shown.


150px Kama
For 501st approval:
  • The kama must be made of black leather, leather like material, or heavy canvas.
  • The kama has dark scarlet trim that should match the stripes on the armor.
  • The front edges of the kama should line up with the outside edges of the front two panels of the belt.
  • The back of the kama is split all the way up to the belt.

150px Holsters
For 501st approval:
  • Holsters must be painted matte or satin white. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Holsters may connect to the belt via straps or directly to the kama with no visible attachment.

150px Lower Leg Armor
For 501st approval:
  • Armor must be painted dark scarlet with a white stripe that wraps around the calf about 2" below the top of the armor and continues down the front center of the armor. Consult reference images for more detail. If weathered, the weathering should be shades of grey.
  • Knee armor painted white and is integrated with the lower leg.
  • The armor should have a flat center triangle below the knee plate, with the single point facing downward.
  • The calf detail of the armor has a ridge wrapping around the back of the leg.
  • Due to the shape of the armor, a butted seam is permitted on the inside or back of the shin.

  • Armor must be weathered.

150px Boots
For 501st approval:
  • Dark Scarlet, ankle high or tall enough to cover the ankle and eliminate any black undersuit visible at the ankle area in armor. Boots must be lace-less and have flat soles.

Boots have a dark scarlet center strip running from the toe to the ankle, a strap across the top of the foot, and 2 flat dark scarlet discs on either side of the foot, terminating the strap.

  • Sole is white.
