Prefix: AR
Detachment: Clone Trooper Detachment
Context: Clone Wars action figures and "Epic Battles" artwork.
ARC troopers were an elite variant of clone trooper during the Clone Wars.

The Heavy Gunner served on a specialized team during the "Hunt for General Grievous".

Please note that this costume is also eligible for membership in The Rebel Legion.


The 501st approval requirements are listed in black.

In the page below, items listed in blue are recommended features that will improve the quality of the costume. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume.

For 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met.

IMPORTANT: The "Animated" armor design, seen in The Clone Wars CG Series, differs from the "Realistic" armor design used to create characters from the theatrical films and graphic novels.

  • Please note that the use of the word "should" below does not indicate that the armor piece is considered open to interpretation. All instances of "should be" and "should have" will be replaced with "is" and "has", as this guide is completed.

Required Costume Components

The following costume components are present and appear as described below.

Blankwhite.gif Helmet
For 501st approval:
  • Episode 3 style AT-RT Driver Helmet - Fanmade bucket. Some "name brand" helmets may be unacceptable.
  • Visor - Mirrored Chrome or Black Visor.
  • Helmet should be painted matte or satin white.
  • Indented area and greeblies on the lower front of helmet should be black in color.
  • 5 black Vents on each side of helmet cheeks.
  • Command marking symbolizing rank:
    • 1. There should be two blue stripes around 1.2 inches wide on the dome of the helmet.
    • 2. The raised wrap, around the dome, should be painted blue.
    • 3. The indented area where the lenses are around the nose should be painted blue.
    • 4. Blue paint should follow the curve from the indented lense area to the point on the front of the cheek mudflaps.
    • 5. The visor over the lenses should be completely blue in color.
  • AT-RT style antenna should be mounted on left side of helmet in a 1/3 circle detail on the ear. Antenna to be black in color.

For 501st approval:
  • Neck seal to be black in color with vertical ribbing or being smooth in appearance.
  • No logos or labels are to be visible.
  • If the seal is not incorporated as part of the undersuit, a balaclava or other similar covering is acceptable.

  • Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos.

Blankwhite.gif Shoulder Bells
For 501st approval:
  • Armor should be painted matte or satin white.
  • Shoulders should be tear drop in shape with all rounded edges.
    • Option 1: Blue paint follows the contour of the shoulder armor. Front shoulder line should match front upper arm location and rear shoulder line should match with rear upper arm line. The command stripe should be continuous from one part to the next.
    • Option 2: Armour should be painted full blue.

For 501st approval:
  • Armor should be painted matte or satin white.
  • Blue paint semi covers some tricept indentation and 1/2" around the front of the bicep.
  • Should have a dimple on the lower area of the back of the arm. The outside of the bicep should have a hard line edge at the front that turns in. The inside of the upper arm should be rounded.
  • Armor should be seamless. No visible traces of how the armor was assembled should be shown.
