|
|
| Required Costume Components
|
|
The following costume components must be present and appear as described below for approval .
|
|
| Palpatine's Face
- Halloween style masks are not allowed.
- Prosthetic appliances must be made from silicone, foam latex or gelatin.
- The color of the prosthetic appliances should closely match the flesh tones seen on screen.
- If desired, a high quality bald cap may be used.
- The prosthetic appliance must be well blended into the skin reducing the noticeable separation between the skin around the eyes and mouth and the appliance.
- Teeth are optionally blackened and browned using tooth enamels in layers to produce a mottled look.

|
| Palpatine's Hands
- Hands should be made up with high quality cosmetics and latex old age stipple or prosthetic appliances simulating old age.
- The nails can be optionally colored with a yellow base and brown and black at the edges of the nail.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Sith Eyes
- The characteristic gaze of one who is given over to the Dark Side is achieved with special effects contact lenses.
- These lenses are described as a fiery yellow transitioning into a brilliant red.
- While considered an essential part of this character, contact lenses are not required for 501st acceptance. All persons wishing to utilize contact lenses are encouraged to first see their optometrist for a fitting.

|
| Under Robe
- Cut in a kimono style, and made of dark charcoal grey, wool, or similar material of weight and texture.
- Lengthwise it extends to less than an inch above the foot wear in both the front and back.
- The robe ties at three points on the inside and three points on the outside near the side of the chest, waist and hips.

|
| Outer Robe
- Black, non glossy fabric with a square waffle style weave or texture.
- If lined, outer robe should be lined with same waffle style material.
- Robe falls from the shoulders to the hem which must be less than one inch above the floor.
- Sleeves reach to just below the wrists. Top of sleeves must be permanently gathered or shirred.
- Bottom of the sleeves extends to wearer's knees when hands are folded across wearer's stomach.
- Hood consists of either one piece or two pieces sewn together with the seam running down the center of the hood.

| Brooch
- Must have a smooth high gloss finish.
- May be carved or sculpted with pin or clasp style backings.
- Brooch measures no more than one and thee quarters high by two and three quarters in wide.
|

|
|
|
|
| Sash
- Must be the same material as the inner robe.
- Must be approximately two and one half inches in width and should extend to just above of the wearer’s knees.
- The sash has squared ends.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Foot wear
- "Wellington" or cowboy style work boots in black leather or rough suede without decoration or laces.
- As an alternative rough suede slip-on style shoes without decoration or laces may be worn.

|
|
| Optional Accessories
|
|
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present must meet the guidelines below.

| Cane
- Made of wood, resin, or other durable material.
- Finish must be smooth glossy black.
- Must feature knurls or twists such as that seen on screen.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Lightsaber
- Scratch built or high-end prop replica
|
|
|
